BMR Calculator - Calculate Your Basal Metabolic Rate
This calulcator estimate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR).
BMR is a minimum number of calories body needs for its most basic (basal) functions while at rest.
Your BMR: 1,717 Calories/day
Activity | Calories |
---|---|
Little or no exercise | 2,060 |
Lightly active (1-3 days/week) | 2,361 |
Moderately active (3-5 days/week) | 2,661 |
Very active (6-7 days/week) | 2,962 |
Extra active (very intense exercise, physical job) | 3,262 |
How to calculate your BMR?
This calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, which is considered to be the most accurate BMR calculator for most types of people.
For men:
BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) + 5
For women:
BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) - 161
How to calculate total calorie needs?
Once BMR is calculated, following equation can be used to determine total daily calorie needs.Multiply BMR with the appropriate activity factor, as follows:
Little or no exercise = BMR x 1.2
Lightly active (1-3 days/week) = BMR x 1.375
Moderately active (3-5 days/week) = BMR x 1.55
Very active (6-7 days/week) = BMR x 1.725
Extra active (very intense exercise, physical job) = BMR x 1.9
